This picture taken at the Global Awakening Kingdom Foundations event has been going around the internet. Our concern is mainly the reaction of those who attend the Rock Church and those who attended the conference who believe this is a legitimate angel sighting.
Read more about angel sightings here and here.
When angels appeared in the Bible they always appeared with a purpose and pointed to God and Jesus Christ, they never glorified or drew attention to themselves. Usually when they appeared they SPOKE a message from God. Also, extreme fear was a common reaction from those who saw angels in the Bible. The angels often had to say, "fear not".
"No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds."
2 Corinthians 11:14-15

As a side note, wasn't it Oprah who said she "took God out of the Box"? Her beliefs are a reminder of how dangerous it is when Christians decide to "take God out of the box".
It is very clear in this video Randy Clark believes these seducing spirits are from God.
Listen to Bill Johnson pastor of Bethel Church talk about an experience he had where he lost control of his body, Randy Clark who is friends with and supports Bill Johnson and Tom Jones explains how he receives these manifestations.
Association is important.
Also included, Maria Sainz retells how she received her "impartation" and also lost control of her body.

Another point to consider in regards to the gold dust “miracle occurrence” is the way the attendees at Bethel Church reacted when they saw it. The immediate reaction was similar to a teenage girl spotting her music idol on the street, lots of cell phones and screaming. It is difficult to imagine a manifestation from Almighty God occurring and responding by posting pictures on Facebook and Instagram. Remember God is not just love but also holy (perfect), pure and just. Consider these passages and how the recipients of the miracle or vision reacted. “And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.” Revelation 1:17 “I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!” And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke. So I said: Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, The Lord of hosts.” Isaiah 6:1-5
“Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said to him, “Do you believe in the Son of God?” He answered and said, “Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?” And Jesus said to him, “You have both seen Him and it is He who is talking with you.” Then he said, “Lord, I believe!” And he worshiped Him. And Jesus said, “For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind.” John 9:35-39
The response to a vision or miracle from God is a realization of how holy God is and how sinful yourself is. Below are more testimonies of Christians claiming their experience is from the Holy Spirit. In these experiences they have lost complete control of their bodies.
2 Corinthians 11:4 and Galatians 1 warns that Christians are capable of being deceived by a different spirit and a different gospel. The way we test these experiences is by the Holy Bible. However, when one forsakes the Bible as their authority they then open the door for any type of teaching they prefer. For more on Bethel Church and Jesus Culture click here.
Please take your time and thoroughly read through this page. We are concerned that false teaching has come into the Rock Church.
How do you "test the spirits"? The Bible needs to be your standard for truth.
Here Miles McPherson talks about having an experience where smoke came out of his mouth.
He believes this was a sign from God.
Randy Clark and the "Toronto Blessing"
Question: "What is the Toronto Blessing?"
Answer: The Toronto Blessing is a supposed outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the people of the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship Church, formerly the Toronto Airport Vineyard Church. On January 20, 1994, a Pentecostal pastor named Randy Clark spoke at the church and gave his testimony of how he would get“drunk” in the Spiritand laugh uncontrollably. In response to this testimony, the congregation erupted in pandemonium with people laughing, growling, dancing, shaking, barking like dogs, and even being stuck in positions of paralysis. These experiences were attributed to the Holy Spirit entering people’s bodies. The pastor of the church, John Arnott, referred to it as a big Holy Spirit party. The moniker “Toronto Blessing” was given, and the church was soon in the international spotlight. Read More Here
Listen to Rick Sainz talk about how they are infiltrating the Rock Church
These two videos were filmed at Bethel Church in 2012. The audience was so excited believing the gold dust appearance was a miracle from God, everyone got out their cell phones and began filming it.
Full Sermon
Gold dust is not mentioned in the Bible as a miracle. The only place where gold dust is mentioned is in Exodus 32:15-20 where it is neither a miracle or a blessing:
"And Moses turned and went down from the mountain, and the two tablets of the Testimony were in his hand. The tabletswere written on both sides; on the one side and on the other they were written. 16 Now the tablets were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God engraved on the tablets.17 And when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said to Moses, “There is a noise of war in the camp.”18 But he said:“It is not the noise of the shout of victory,Nor the noise of the cry of defeat,But the sound of singing I hear.”19 So it was, as soon as he came near the camp, that he saw the calf and the dancing. So Moses’ anger became hot, and he cast the tablets out of his hands and broke them at the foot of the mountain. 20 Then he took the calf which they had made, burned it in the fire, and ground it to powder; and he scattered it on the water and made the children of Israel drink it." Exodus 32:15-20 NJKV
In the video to the right Rick Sainz speaks at Cloud Nine Church in Spring Valley California about visiting Bethel Church in Redding California. The pastor of Bethel is Bill Johnson.
Bethel Church is known for being the training ground for the popular band Jesus Culture. It is also known for manifestations of gold dust, feathers and other false miracles. It is obvious that the Sainz couple has ties to Bethel Church and now they have infiltrated the Rock with the intention of bringing their false teachings with them.
Experience Does Not Validate Truth
We exchanged several emails with Sheri Brown from Miraculous Mall Ministry asking her how she knew the miracles and healings she has experienced were from God. She did not answer our questions but wanted to share her personal testimony instead. Her personal testimony is also shared on Maria Sainz blog.
It reads:
“For the last two years of my life I was silently suffering through being caught up in my own sin, a deep depression, and pain from a traumatic childhood experience. I felt like the Lord had left me in the middle of an ocean and I was treading water and fighting to stay afloat with no life preserver. I believed that God was truly done with me because I continued to fall into the same sin over and over again. Maria Sainz begin coming to our bible studies and told me that she felt the Lord had called her to the JC’s Girls ministry to help us. Being one of the leaders of the ministry, I was very guarded and had to be cautious as to who I sought out for help. I witnessed a friend of mine get completely set free from the problems she was had and wanted so badly to be free myself. I met with Maria a couple of weeks later who prayed with me and over me. It was the most powerful prayers I have ever experienced in my life. I instantly felt the depression lift from me, my childhood pain gone, and the bondage to sin I was struggling with broken. I was set free!! I was even able to speak with the family member who hurt me as a child and forgive him. I now truly understand the meaning of “spiritual warfare” and “bondage”. Nobody has to live in bondage. Through the powerful name of Jesus… it can all be broken and you can be set free! For the first time in my life, I have all of the tools I need to combat the enemy and his lies and live victoriously in who I am in Christ Jesus! I can never thank God enough for sending Maria into my life. He used her to throw me a life preserver and Jesus brought me back to shore to rest… back in His arms. Thank you Maria!”

February 1st 2013 this "miracle" was posted on Maria Sainz's blog:
"So we were outside the Rock Church praying for Jc’s girls and had a visitation from Heaven after impartation for the miraculous was released. Glory dust was on everyone!!!! Whoa God is so amazing!!! What a blast it is to be in His presence with all these precious women preparing to go do an outreach at the Porn convention coming up in March!!!"
Maria Sainz Ministries taught the Rock Youth Group for 8 weeks two years ago with Sheri Brown. Here is an account from her blog dated July 31, 2012 :
"A dread champion is one that is fully surrendered to God living a life of holiness and purity. Dread means- a sudden fear coming upon a person. We will be filled with the power and authority of God through our love for God that the enemy will be afraid of us and flee. Then we can establish His Kingdom on this earth. These kids got so on fire in these meetings it was incredible to see! Many got healed through words of knowledge each week. One gal in particular was healed of a gymnastics accident and suffered lower back pain for almost 8 years. We prayed for her and she fell out under power of God.After about fifteen minutes she got up and exclaimed she no longer had any pain."

When Miraculous Mall Ministry was challenged with the fact that gold dust does NOT appear in the Bible as a miracle, they responded with this:
"The Bible does not talk about "glory dust" or "gold dust". However, just because one person has not seen it or experienced it, does not mean it does not exist or that it comes from the devil. "Glory dust" could probably best be described as a "sign that makes you wonder." We believe that God is much Bigger than a Book. The Bible says that "Jesus did many OTHER signs in the presence of His disciples, which are NOT written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name." (John 20:30-31)There are many believers who don't believe that God still heals today because either they haven't seen it or experienced it for their selves or it's not the doctrine they have been taught; we wouldn't criticize them for what they believe or don't believe. We have seen and witnessed God still healing, miracles, signs & wonders. We don't worship the "signs & wonders" (or the healing), we worship the Healer... The same God these believers do."
According to Miles McPherson, Maria Sainz is "a great friend" of his and has been very instrumental in his life and in the journey with the Holy Spirit with him.
"I love that I have permission to be drunk here". - Maria Sainz
"Let your women keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak; but they are to be submissive, as the law also says."

Shipwrecked on the Rock?
"Holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith." 1 Timothy 1:19
On March 30, 2014 the Rock Church San Diego had Maria Sainz as a special guest speaker. Maria Sainz leads Red Seal Ministries with her husband. According to their website, "together they are focused on equipping the body of Christ through speaking in ministries and churches in area of healing and impartation. As God moves through miracles, signs and wonders their desire is to see many come into their true identity in Christ to advance God’s kingdom."
An event titled "Kingdom Foundations" was held at the Rock Church May 7-10, 2014. At first it was believed that this was not a sponsored Rock Church event. However, the event its titled "Global Awakening Conference" on the Rock Church's website. You can click here to see for yourself. You could purchase tickets ranging from $110 - $130. The Rock should not have opened their facility to individuals such as Randy Clark who is a heretic and associates with heretics. We could give the Rock the benefit of the doubt and say this was a serious lack of discernment. But looking at the above evidence it would seem the Rock Church is paving the way for false spirits to enter the church (doctrines of demons).
Listen to the first five minutes of Pastor Miles speak in the sermon below from October 27, 2013. It seems he is paving the way for these false healings and miracles.
The Rock Church East County has a ministry which reaches out to the malls in their local area. They minister to people by approaching them and asking individuals if they need prayer and if they have been baptized with the Holy Spirit. They have filmed several "healings" and "miracles" that have taken place. One miracle is said to have been an appearance of gold/glory dust. The ministry has a YouTube Channel and Facebook page which also documents these miracles. Below is a video uploaded by Miraculous Mall Ministry with the two witnesses claiming the appearance of the gold dust. Sheri Brown is a leader of Miraculous Mall Ministry.
Dust Away the Error
Do not lay hands on anyone hastily, nor share in other people's sin; keep yourself pure." 1 Timothy 5:22 NKJV
"Miraculous Mall Ministry" is an official ministry that is listed on the Rock Church's website.
"Two days before the sabbatical began, something strange happened. Miles was standing in his house speaking to Marcus Preciado. The temperature inside and out was about 70 degrees, but as Miles was talking, white smoke came out of his mouth. It wasn’t nearly cold enough to be the steam of hot breath meeting cold air! Just as he was wondering why that happened, a brown ashy substance came out of Miles’ mouth. Both Miles and Marcus were stunned and confused. Miles called his physician, who had no medication explanation, so he discussed it with his spiritual mentor and realized that this was a spiritual manifestation."

The Rock Church: Getting Miles Away from the Truth?
"And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ." Philippians 1:9-10
In the 'About Dr. Randy Clark' section of Global Awakening's website Randy affirms the Toronto Blessing event was from God.
"After months of prayer and fasting, Randy got touched by the Lord mightily. And, on January 20, 1994, this unassuming pastor from St. Louis walked into a small storefront church near the Toronto airport. Originally scheduled for 4 days, his meetings have turned into a worldwide revival that has impacted millions of people!"
Here Pastor Miles McPherson is not encouraging his congregation to be discerning and test everything with scripture (1 Thess 5:21) when they attend this conference but rather to trust them (the speakers) "because these guys have been doing this and walking in this for decades longer than" him and everyone else. Essentially, Pastor Miles is saying trust the speakers because of their experience in the supernatural. Interestingly, when Miles responded to the controversy of hosting Global Awakening via Facebook and email (below) he said, "We are not seeking to align ourselves with any historical movement or denomination". On one hand Miles is basically saying to trust Global Awakening because of their history and on the other hand he is saying just because the Rock Church is hosting them does not mean we agree with the history. Which is it Pastor Miles?
The problem is that if one is to research the history of Randy Clark from Global Awakening they will be led to the Toronto Blessing which has been marked as a false revival based on unbiblical experiences. Again, Pastor Miles is saying to trust Randy Clark because of the decades yet the decades are full of unbiblical experiences and heresy. The Toronto Blessing and Global Awakening has produced many false prophets, false teachers and false apostles.
This all begs the question, "Has Pastor Miles really done his research?" It should be very concerning that Pastor Miles is leading his flock into this direction. He has sent Rock leaders to the Global Awakening conference and has given Randy Clark, Will Hart and Tom Jones a platform of authority to speak to his congregation. Has Pastor Miles overlooked, simply dismissed the history and fruit of these men or has he accepted their teaching with open arms?
Pastor Miles McPherson has the largest church in San Diego and has a great influence and impact in the community and the United States. Despite his videos to the public, some have claimed Pastor Miles does not completely agree with Global Awakening. So much damage has been done already because of this conference, if Pastor Miles does not agree with Randy Clark's history, including the Toronto Blessing and Global Awakening he needs to address this from the pulpit and renounce it.
April 27, 2014 - Pastor Miles McPherson endorses the Global Awakening conference saying he has attended it and has sent three teams of his staff to it.
Pastor Miles unfortunately created a false dichotomy here between churches who teach miracles do not happen today and what Global Awakening believes. He said, "..churches deny the supernatural, because there are denominations who will teach you miracles do not happen anymore and it has nothing to do what the Bible says it has to do with some other stuff and they won't admit that". This is a false dichotomy because there are Christians who believe that miracles and the gifts of the Holy Spirit are for today while rejecting the heretical New Apostolic Reformation Movement and the teachings of Randy Clark from Global Awakening.
"This conference has played a major role in the transformation of the Rock Church...live the life Christ intended you to live". - Miles McPherson
On May 7, 2014 the Rock Church Facebook posted Miles' response to the negative feedback concerning the Global Awakening - Kingdom Foundations event. He acknowledged this was a controversial issue but reaffirmed that the Rock Church is in favor of Randy Clark and his ministry. Click 'See More' to view the entire status.
In this video Will Hart speaks about when the Holy Spirit supposedly told him to hit someone in order to heal them.
"The bottom line is this: Angels would not, could not, promote anything God expressly forbids –and He forbids His children to have any part in pagan religious practices. Moreover, we’re not to embrace the world’s philosophies.
Bear in mind that the holy angels are incapable of going against God, whereas unholy angels continuously go against God in their quest to lead people astray." - Excerpt from "Are All Angels Safe?" on Stand Up For the Truth - Read More Here
Pastor Larry Peltier posted this in the Facebook group, "Horizon School of Evangelism Alumni". The group was full of dialogue concerning the Global Awakening conference at the Rock Church.
Pastor Larry Peltier recognizes the history of John Wimber, Calvary Chapel and Vineyard Church. Peltier has chosen to take 'God out of the box' and accept what he had been warned against by Calvary Chapel.
Pastor Peltier said, "These signs affirm that it is God's Word coming forth". Signs and wonders also affirms false prophets:
"For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect."
Matthew 24:24
Pastor Peltier encourages people to ask the Holy Spirit to show them the truth. On the surface it would seem there is nothing wrong with his statement. However, he is encouraging others to ask the Holy Spirit to reveal something to them that they already discern to be wrong. Even Mormons encourage people to pray to God to reveal to them 'the truth' and they will feel a 'burning in their bosom'.
Most involved in the NAR movement or any heritical movement rarely encourage others who disagree to go and study the Bible to see if these things are true.
For the record, we are not comparing Larry Peltier to a Mormon, only his reasoning.
Finally, he assumes those who do not accept the Toronto and Vineyard beliefs have a worldview shaped by their 'own understanding' and 'church culture'. The Christian worldview must be shaped by the Bible as a whole. 4Discernment.com does not reject the NAR movement because of our own understanding or tradition but because the movement does not line up which Scripture as a whole.
